Walking into the clinic for my second appointment felt like returning to a place of warmth and understanding. The staff greeted me like an old friend—laughing, chatting, and even sharing photos from a vacation to Peru. It was far from the cold, sterile environments of traditional medical offices. I felt at ease.
The friendly nurse took my vitals—no white coat syndrome here! And then, the moment arrived. My doctor, with his familiar smile and sparkling eyes, welcomed me into his office—an oasis of positivity. Large windows bursting with vibrant plants, minimal yet inviting furniture, and a TV ready to display the results of my extensive testing.

We dove deep into my health—page after page of results, discussion after discussion. He asked thoughtful questions, connected the dots, and took the time to truly understand what my body needed. To my surprise, I had areas that needed improvement. Me? Someone who avoids processed foods and loves homemade meals? I’ve always been mindful, but I realized I had fallen into a pattern—choosing foods I liked rather than ones my body truly needed.
My diet was good but not optimal for me. My probiotic? Not the right fit for me. I wasn’t diversifying my microbiome the way I needed to. This wasn’t about following generic health advice—it was about tailoring nutrition to my specific needs.
After three and a half hours—yes, hours—of discussion, analysis, and learning, I left the office with three pages of notes and a clear direction. I have a new dietary approach, supplements designed for my body, and an eagerness to transform my habits.

One of my first changes? Swapping coffee for green tea. Surprisingly, I didn’t miss coffee at all! I found joy in discovering new vegetables and exploring farm stands reminiscent of my childhood when my Italian grandparents’ garden was a source of fresh produce. There, fresh tomatoes were enjoyed as a snack. Peaches, pears, and figs were picked straight from the tree, tomatoes were preserved at home, homemade sauce was a tradition, and fresh salads were a daily staple.

I embraced powerful, simple health shifts. No dairy, sugar, or processed foods—and the results were undeniable. No bloating, no stomach pain, and a newfound lightness in my body. My skin looked healthier, brighter, clearer, and more vibrant. My energy was noticeably higher, and I woke up feeling refreshed instead of sluggish. Could it be that my body was finally accepting the nourishment instead of fighting its way through processed or incompatible foods? It felt as though the right nutrients were soothing and fueling me, rather than creating battles within. I could notice the difference!
Then came a revelation about olive oil—real olive oil. A single-origin, early-harvest, organic Greek olive oil rich in polyphenols. Unlike most store-bought oils, which are diluted and stripped of benefits, this was nature’s medicine.
I’ve heard some refer to high-quality olive oil as “nature’s Ozempic.” While I don’t have firsthand experience with Ozempic, there’s a growing buzz about the potential effects of consuming the right olive oil—early harvest, organic, and rich in polyphenols—first thing in the morning. Some say it naturally helps regulate appetite, curb cravings, and support balanced hunger levels over time. After incorporating it into my routine for weeks, I’ve noticed a real difference—fewer cravings, less desire for bread, and a greater focus on nutrient-rich foods that truly fuel my body. Source.

Through this journey, I’ve learned to listen to my body in ways I never have before. My holistic doctor is more than a guide—he’s an email away, always providing the support I need.
Most importantly, my goal in sharing my story is to raise awareness about trauma and wellness. Healing after trauma is a multifaceted journey. Don’t ignore any moment when your body is trying to communicate with you. I hope that by sharing my experiences, I can help others—whether by offering insights, raising awareness about the lasting effects of trauma, or simply sparking conversations about the importance of personal health. Maybe something in my story resonates with you. Maybe you know someone who can benefit from this knowledge. If so, please share this with them—because healing is meant to be shared, and together, we can support each other on this journey.
I took a leap of faith, embraced change, and discovered the immense power of individualized health. I’m excited for my next appointment, and ready to see how my body continues to evolve. I’ll keep you posted!
